About Us
Hi! I’m Courtney, founder and soaper behind Peak to Creek Soapworks. 🤍
Peak to Creek started because I wanted something better for my family.
I had become frustrated with products being marketed as “natural,” only to turn the bottle around and find an ingredient list that told a very different story. I was getting headaches from products we were using, my son was getting bumps on his arms from soaps that were supposed to be gentle and natural, and I was tired of constantly researching ingredients and wondering what we were actually putting on our skin.
I knew there had to be a simpler way.
That’s when I discovered tallow and began learning about its long history in traditional soap and skincare. The more I researched, the more interested I became. I took a soapmaking course, started creating products for my own family, and completely fell in love with it.
And from there, Peak to Creek Soapworks was born.
When I started making soap, I wanted to keep it as simple as possible. Instead of combining multiple oils, fats and butters, I chose to make our bars with 100% grass-fed, hormone-free beef tallow as the only saponified fat.
Tallow creates a beautifully soft, creamy and gentle lather all on its own. Because our bars aren’t loaded with other oils simply to create big bubbles, the lather is naturally more creamy than bubbly. If you love lots of lather, a washcloth or one of our sponge loofahs works beautifully with them.
That same less-is-more philosophy carries through everything we make.
Our products are made in small batches with thoughtfully chosen ingredients, without parabens, phthalates, GMOs, palm oil, synthetic perfumes, artificial fragrances or dyes. We use ingredients like pure essential oils, clays, botanicals, local honey, coffee and other simple additions to create products that are both beautiful and functional.
Supporting local is also incredibly important to me. Whenever possible, we source our ingredients from local farms and small businesses throughout the Fraser Valley. I love knowing where our ingredients come from and supporting the people in our own community while creating something special with them.
What started as a search for simpler products for my own family has grown into something I get to share with yours—and that still feels pretty amazing.
Thank you for being here, for supporting a small local business, and for choosing products made simply and intentionally.
From our family to yours, welcome to Peak to Creek Soapworks. 🌲🤍
